What is Flying for Life?

Flying for life is a registered Section 18A Public Benefit Organisation (2011/002050/08) that is committed to flying help, hope and healing to rural isolated communities in South Africa. By connecting specialists to rural remote areas through aviation, Flying for Life enables medical professionals, early childhood development trainers, social development specialists and other non-profit organisations to reach communities in need.

How does this link to MAF SA?

MAF SA created Flying for Life in 2011 to meet the needs of isolated South Africans in rural areas. MAF has an international focus, and Flying for Life has a local purpose.

Why do we need to fly?

Today countless people in South Africa don’t just live in poverty but they are also cut off from the institutions that exist to address their needs, by difficult or dangerous terrain. It's not just that they are born into less-fortunate circumstances, but their location deprives them of the opportunity to change that.
