Be a MAF Engineer

Aircraft maintenance engineers and avionics technicians keep our aircraft operational. Without engineers, there would be no life-transforming flying. There are several types of roles needed.

How much experience do I need?

MAF engineer candidates will need to demonstrate an International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) based aviation maintenance licence. Avionics technicians will also need to hold an ICAO based licence and in some cases manufacturers courses.

In addition, candidates will need to demonstrate:

2 years practical experience preferred for engineer roles

3-4 years practical experience for experienced engineer roles

5+ years practical experience for chief engineer roles.

Work is undertaken on a variety of fixed-wing aircraft, such as Cessna 206, 208, Gippsland GA-8, DHC-6 and their engines (TCM/CMI IO-550, Lycoming IO-540 and P&WC PT6A turboprop).
